I am finally getting some time to review what you have put together. Just fantastic! Thank you for your efforts!

The caption about Ivan above, under the photo of the boys indicates his birth year as 1924 – it is 1923.

It is so cool to see the reference to Parkland, i.e. PLU. I attended there and have a BBA from 1971 and MBA from 1977. Joel, my son also attended PLU graduating in 1998 (I think). Several other cousins and their kids also attended, especially Ken and Roxy’s kids and Myrna.

Oh, yeah – PLU – Parkland. I hadn’t made the connection, nor looked it up yet. I always thought of it as just part of Tacoma. I think I’ll write a new post about this. Eric L was the original source of the images & is looking for the missing pages.

Hey George — This letter is amazingly interesting — Parkland? Wow. To think that several grandchildren (and offspring) have attended — or are attending — that “college” and, of course, Peter grew up in Parkland. It’s really something to see the handwriting and read the words of a grandmother we never knew. Page 2 of the letter is not currently showing….I viewed it a few days ago, so it must have just slipped away, perhaps when you revised the intro. sentences. Thanks, Uncle. I wrote that a little too fast. I did know that Samuelson’s were Isaac’s relatives, and have corrected the post as well. Merry Christmas to you as well!

Harry Samuelson was Isaac’s cousin. They lived in Ontario, California, not Astoria when the letter was written. Thanks. Merry Christmas.
