Satellite Map of Norway
http://www.gulesider.no/kart/ is a terrific interactive map I just discovered. It's Norwegian only, but very easy to use without any language skills. There is an "addresse" search box and it knows all the placenames including farms. If you type "Fron" it will give you a list including "Sør-Fron church." You can choose from map, satellite, or hybrid views. "Skordal" will let you select from two adjacent farms in Sør-Fron, etc. etc. I have been using Google Earth, but their photos of that area are very blurry, and it does not know most of the placenames. These photos are super-clear, down to the vehicle level.
Southwestern Wisconsin

The red star marks the town of Ontario, location of the Brush Creek church, in which parish Ole and his family lived from 1874 on. Ole and his first wife are buried there. Coon Prairie is around the present-day towns of Westby and Coon Valley. Ole initially lived in the large Norwegian settlement there.
Northwestern North Dakota
Williston to Glendive, MT
On the shortgrass prairie, hard by the Montana border, Four of Ole's sons claimed homesteads in 1909. Three of them, Axel, Isaac, and Oscar, stayed on to raise their families there. The fourth boy, the eldest son Smith Larson, was a merchant sailor who died a bachelor in 1924. It is unclear how much time Smith spent on the homestead.
