I promised to identify for you the other Moen gravestones I photographed at Brush Creek. They belong to four brothers of Anna Moen Larson: Tom, Alfred, Henry, and Edwin.
As you may recall, grandmother Anna is buried with Grandpa Isaac near Skaar, ND. I have yet to trace the whereabouts of Anna’s other six(!) siblings. Besides Anna’s parents here at Brush Creek, I luckily stumbled upon both sets of her grandparents at Coon Prairie (next post).

One of Anna’s sisters was named Sanda. I can’t call to mind her married name, but know she lived in Seattle as I remember Dad talking about going up to visit her at one time. He said she really liked the bottle so it sounds as though she was alcoholic. She had no children. I’m going to call Myrna to ask if she also went to visit Sanda once. I seem to have a recollection about that. If so, I will post another blog comment.

I went with Dad up to Seattle and visited Sanda, but I recall very little about it. I think I was college age, but I’m not sure. And I don’t remember much about the visit. I remember her as being old, quite small in stature, gracious, and I don’t remember that she was drinking that day, but do recall Dad commenting on that. I somehow think her last name was either Jones or Smith, but not sure about that either. George, your work is fantastic!! What a gift for all of us. Thankyou!!

According to Orrin’s book, Sanda Moen (1891-1968) married George Jones (!), no dates nor children listed.
