Born in Gausdal, Norway, on this date in 1854: Helene Olsdatter, second wife of Ole Larson, thus my step-great-grandmother. Although she is not my biological relative, she is ancestor to more than half of Ole Larson’s descendants, being mother to seven of his thirteen children. Featured on her death date, 12 July. I don’t know if her relationship with my Grandpa was a good one, but she at least visited North Dakota in about 1917.
