Ole Larson's Folks

Died in Oskaloosa, Iowa, on this date in 1864: second great-grandgfather Henry Bennett Myers. A few months earlier, he was serving as Quartermaster of the 33rd Iowa Infantry regiment, campaigning in Arkansas. However, he came down with dysentery in the squalid camp environment (ironic, for a Quartermaster). He returned home, was discharged, and died before the Arkansas campaign was over.
