Died in Sør-Fron, Norway, on this day in 1855: my second great-grandfather Lars Paulsen Flaate.

Lars Paulsen is the only one of my eight Norwegian great-great-grandparents who died in Norway. He is most likely buried in the Sør-Fron churchyard (pictured above), although no marker survives. The other seven are buried in two cemeteries in Vernon County, Wisconsin. As Lars Paulsen is the father of Ole Larson, he could be considered the source of the Larson surname for our whole family of Larsons. Read more …
