Born in Scituate, Rhode Island, on this day in 1763: my fourth great-grandmother Martha Bennet (m. Myers). On her death date several days ago, I neglected to run a picture of her gravestone at Forty Fort.
As an elderly widow, Martha Bennet Myers was interviewed by at least three nineteenth-century historians who published books about the Wyoming Valley.
Also late in her life, Martha encountered some red tape, when she applied for pension funds based on her late husband’s Revolutionary War service. Read more …
