Ole Larson's Folks

Died in Sidney, Montana, on this date in 1927: grandmother Anna Moen (m. Larson). Her death certificate lists diphtheria as the cause, but family members found that implausible. She was in hospital for some undiagnosed or vaguely diagnosed illness that had dogged her for several years. My father became certain she had cancer, after he was diagnosed with that disease. The immediate cause of her death may have been an infection she caught in the hospital, such as staph, or a combination of factors, including cancer itself. Anna was buried in Sunny Side cemetery, near the homesteads, where my father and grandfather were later buried alongside her.
