Also, on this date in 1908, a meteor exploded in the Tunguska region of Siberia, with the force of a thousand Hiroshima atom bombs. Along with other devastation, the explosion leveled the forest for twenty miles in all directions, with the downed trees all pointing away from the explosion’s epicenter.
